Jewel-Ann Lessie, NP, is a board-certified healthcare provider that currently works with NY Family Docs. She is a compassionate adult-gerontology specialist with a diverse background in disease prevention, health promotion, chronic care management, and health education. She’s dedicated to increasing the quality of patient care by focusing on organizational skills, paying key attention to detail, and hard work. Her educational and practical experience includes holistic evaluation, clinical diagnosis, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Jewel-Ann is always motivated to learn and grow so she can provide the best patient care possible. In addition to the skills mentioned above, she also boasts extensive past experience as a critical care nurse, where she was responsible for providing compassionate care to surgical, trauma, stroke, pediatric, and maternity patients. She’s an experienced school nurse and clinical assistant, and also speaks Spanish. Lessie also boasts a number of certifications and licenses, as well as clinical assessments.
She is a honor graduate of both the Hunter College of the City University of New York where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing and from Lehman College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Jewel-Ann believes that people can live healthy, happy lives once adequately educated. Being a nurse practitioner enables her to help people make life altering decisions and thus prevent further deterioration of their health. She was born in Trinidad but grew up and currently lives in Brooklyn and loves the diversity of that community. Traveling, exploring nature, shopping, and trying new foods keeps her busy when she isn’t caring for her patients.
